Measure before ordering

For the best fit, DON`T GUESS at your size or your child's size! We are taking the time to explain to you that you want to measure and use the size charts prior to ordering.  Children's or teenagers formal wear (flower girl dresses, Communion Dresses, Quinceanera Dresses, Pageant Dresses,suits, tuxes and more) are also made of the same  materials and fabrics many times over that bridal gowns and bridesmaids dresses are made of and in most cases need alterations.  So, it's critical that you understand how to size your child (to measure suits, please see the boy's size chart).  

Measure first---THEN determine your size from the size charts listed.  For the sizes that may fall in between the charts or close to the chart, choose the larger size as it is always easier to alter the dress down than to let it out as there may not be enough seam allowance.  

****Remember, some size chart reflects the measurements of the dresses themselves and you still have to put your child inside the dress!  So, if your child has a 22 INCH chest and the dress has a 22 INCH chest, it will be a tight or a snug fit. But, some size charts reflect the size of the child. No matter who you order your flower girl dress from, you need to clarify what the size chart really means. On our size charts for our flower girl dresses, we actually clarify for you. If it is not clear enough, we encourage you to call and ask.  

***Formal Wear are created with a bullet pattern, and in most cases they will need to be altered to fit the child, teenager or yourself.  We suggest getting a dress that is slightly larger and then having it altered about 1-2 weeks before the event (since kids can grow fast)!

Here`s How to Measure:
Measure over undergarments, keeping measuring
tape level and not pulling it tightly.
BUST: Measure over unpadded bra at fullest part, or across the breast area.
WAIST: Measure at natural waist (or smallest part), usually 1-2 inches above the belly button.
HOLLOW TO HEM: Measure from the base of the neck (hollow of the neck) to the floor barefoot. It's also VERY important you measure the length of the child. Many people focus only on the chest and waist and order a dress that is WAY TOO SMALL. We often get phone calls telling us that their child measure at a 12 month dresses based on their waist and chest. If that same customer ordered that dress without using the length measurement, they will be very upset when they open the box to see that small of a dress since they didn't factor in the length!
HOLLOW TO TEA LENGTH: Some of our dresses come in tea length, an approx. tea length is from the shoulder down to mid-calf area between the knee and ankle. Please keep in mind some dresses are a long tea length or a shorter tea length depending on the style of the dress.
ALTERATIONS are needed 95% of the time and in a case like the above, they should expect to do alterations since they most likly have a tall and skinny child.
